Changing appointment for Carta di Soggiorno
At the post office I got an appointment to renew my Carta di Soggiorno. It was an appointment generated automatically by the computer.
That appointment conflicted with another appointment I had with another government office. It was an appointment I had gotten long ago, and I was sure it could not be changed.
I asked the woman at the post office whether I could change the appointment she had just given me. She said she had no way to do that.
So I then went to the Questura, took a number, waited in the queue, and when it was my turn, I explained the situation and asked her to change the appointment. She said she had no way to do that.
When I said I could come the same day, but at a later hour, she spontaneously created a new procedure. She wrote on my appointment paper that I would be late, then she signed and dated it, and added a Questura stamp. Nice!
It worked fine on the day, though I was at the end of the queue, so I had to wait a long time.
But for future reference, does anyone know how to change appointment times and/or dates?
